About the Role
Kozent Tec is seeking an analytical and results-driven Revenue Cycle Process Improvement Analyst to support the optimization of healthcare revenue cycle operations.
This role will analyze billing, coding, claims, denials, accounts receivable, and payment data to identify operational gaps, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement. The analyst will work closely with RCM, billing, coding, AR, denial management, and leadership teams to develop data-driven solutions that improve efficiency, reduce errors, and strengthen revenue cycle performance.
The ideal candidate combines healthcare RCM knowledge, analytical skills, process improvement experience, and strong communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze revenue cycle performance across medical billing, coding, claims, denials, AR, and payment processes.
- Monitor KPIs including denial rates, AR aging, clean claim rates, collections, productivity, and turnaround times.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify billing errors, denial patterns, payer issues, and process inefficiencies.
- Review claims and reimbursement data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for revenue improvement.
- Develop and maintain Excel-based reports, dashboards, and performance trackers.
- Translate RCM data into clear, actionable recommendations for management.
- Collaborate with billing, coding, AR, denial management, and operations teams to validate findings and implement corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows, reduce manual processes, and increase operational efficiency.
- Monitor the effectiveness of process improvements and measure results over time.
- Analyze payer requirements and changes that may affect claims processing, reimbursement, and denial performance.
- Support quality audits and review operational data to identify recurring issues.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly RCM performance reports and management presentations.
- Document process workflows, findings, recommendations, and improvement initiatives.
- Support process improvement projects and follow up on corrective actions.
- Maintain confidentiality of healthcare information and follow HIPAA and applicable compliance requirements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in healthcare Revenue Cycle Management, medical billing, healthcare analytics, or process improvement.
- Strong understanding of medical billing, claims management, denial management, AR, payment posting, and reimbursement processes.
- Experience conducting root cause analysis and identifying operational improvement opportunities.
- Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting.
- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Strong understanding of CPT, ICD-10-CM, HCPCS, payer requirements, and healthcare billing workflows.
- Experience with EHR/EMR, billing, RCM, or healthcare reporting systems.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with advanced EHR or healthcare reporting tools.
- Experience with Epic or other healthcare RCM platforms.
- CRCR, CPC, CPB, CCS, or related healthcare certification.
- Experience in healthcare process improvement or quality assurance.
- Knowledge of clearinghouses and payer portals.
- Experience preparing presentations for leadership or client stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
